Learning to paraglide in Verbier, Switzerland
June, 2019

Day one, learning how to get the wing up properly.
The first take off spot. Check out the steep grade!
Coming in for a landing.
Getting ready to take off from the "big hill!" aka the Alps.
The big "hill!"
As a skydiver, I thought learning to paraglide would be a breeze. I was wrong. It was nothing short of terrifying! The canopy was so flimsy compared to a skydiving canopy, it felt like I was flying a Kleenex. I was constantly ready to pull my reserve, if necessary. In retrospect, I really should have picked somewhere smaller than the Swiss Alps to do training. With an excessively elevated heart rate and persistence, I succeeded!
